Rejection 101: How to Move Forward After a He Leaves You.

So, he doesn’t want you anymore. He’s through, done, over it. He’s changed his numbers, his schedule, and the route he takes on his way home from work. You’ve been dumped, honey. Tossed aside. Told, in no uncertain terms, to kick rocks. In fact, he’s already moved on. Now what?

Rejection is never easy to handle, especially in the context of a romantic relationship. It's natural to feel hurt and upset when someone you care about decides they don't want to be with you anymore. However, it's important to try to maintain perspective and not let your emotions get the best of you.

One of the first things you should do is try to understand why the relationship didn't work out. It's easy to blame your ex and take things personally, but it's important to remember that relationships are a two-way street. You may have a habit of choosing jerks, men who are incapable of commitment, or men who know that because of the low standards you’ve set for yourself, they don’t have to put forth much effort to earn your time and attention. There can be a number of reasons why your relationships do not last, but all that matters is…they don’t.

Consider what you may have contributed to the demise of the relationship and try to learn from it. This can be a difficult process, but it can help you grow as a person and avoid making the same mistakes in the future.

The following is a list of things you should not do.

1. Do not call him more than once a day, if at all.

2. If you do call him and he ignores your call, do not leave a psycho message.

3. After placing several calls with no answer or callbacks, do not go to his house and sit outside in your car.

4. If you find yourself stalking him, do not get out of your car!

5. Okay, if you find yourself getting out of your car, do not jump his gate, bang on his door, scream his name, or find an open window to crawl through.

6. If you find yourself jumping his gate, banging on his door, screaming his name, and crawling through an open window, do not resist arrest!

No matter how badly you want someone to be yours, that doesn’t mean it will change the outcome and make it so. You can’t hold a man’s emotions hostage or force him to be with you against his will.

It's also important to take care of yourself during this time. Grieving is a natural part of the process, but it's important to try to do so in a healthy way. Avoid obsessive thoughts about your ex and try to focus on yourself. This may mean taking some time to be alone, seeking support from friends and family, or finding healthy outlets for your emotions such as exercise or therapy.

  1. Take some time for yourself: It's important to give yourself space to process your emotions and come to terms with the rejection. This may mean taking some time to be alone, or seeking support from friends and family.

  2. Practice self-care: This is a difficult time, so it's important to take care of yourself. Engage in activities that nourish your mind, body, and spirit, such as exercise, spending time in nature, or practicing mindfulness.

  3. Seek support: It can be helpful to talk to someone about your feelings and get some perspective on the situation. This could be a friend, family member, or a professional therapist.

  4. Reflect on the relationship: Try to understand what went wrong in the relationship and what you can learn from the experience. This can help you grow as a person and avoid making the same mistakes in the future.

  5. Focus on the present: It's natural to dwell on the past, but try to refocus your attention on the present and the future. What are your goals and aspirations, and how can you work towards them?

  6. Be kind to yourself: Remember that it's okay to feel hurt and upset after being rejected. Be gentle with yourself and give yourself time to heal.

Finally, it's important to try to move on. This may be easier said than done, but it's important to remember that people recover from breakups every day. You’ll know you’re a prize, and no man will ever make you feel like anything less, even if you’re not the one for him.
